TRADITIONS

Good Morning Everyone..I seem to be late again..my intentions are to get my blog posted first thing and darn I'm always behind for some reason or another. I was reading some blogs earlier and one was about traditions.

That got me to thinking about Thanksgiving traditions and realized my family doesn't have one..We used to but down thru the years it changed..

When my Grandmother was alive she cooked Thanksgiving Dinner every year.  She cooked so much food..you would have thought she was going to feed an army instead of 6!!! She always had Turkey and Dressing and one other kind of meat..fried chicken, or roast usually. Then she cooked at least 2 of each of our favorites..mine was fried okra and creamed corn.We always had some kind of congealed salad, green salad, cranberry sauce, and giblet gravy to go with everything else.

Granny always cooked deserts..pies and cakes but by that time we were all so full we had to force down a dessert LOL..I loved to spend the night before Thanksgiving with them.  We went to Thanksgiving Services at Church.  When we got home Granny would change her dress and get out her apron and one for me and we would start cooking...cornbread for the dressing the next day, making the congealed salad..and some of the desserts. My granddad would go to bed by 9 and we stayed up late..The next morning we got up early and my granddaddy and I would watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade.I so remember those days and wish I could have just one Thanksgiving back.

After Granny passed away my mother started cooking Thanksgiving Dinner for everyone..eventually it got down to me, Lori Mother and Daddy for dinner..Cathy had moved away, the boys always went to their other grandmothers.

After my dad died mother cooked a few years and then the 3 of us started going out to eat.  I cooked several years but never established any kind of tradition.

This year Angie and her family are here and she is coming down the day after Thanksgiving and is going to cook lunch for us at my moms house..sounds like a fun day and I'm looking forward to it.

It sure would be nice of some of you would share your thanksgiving traditions with us.

BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I feel like an icicle this morning.  It was below freezing last night and I turned my heat on for the first time this year. I did wake up burning up and had to turn it off again..I just can't breathe when its too hot.

My apartment is really warm and most days and nights I have the window open a bit.  I stay very warm and sometimes I even turn on the fan..Now if you could see my living room, you would see that not all of my family agrees with me...there are big furry comforters, not throws, I mean full size comforters everywhere and they wrap up like Eskimos. I tell them to put on more clothes if they are cold..I sure can't take off any to cool off..LOL

We had Kaylen with us this weekend..She has grown since I saw her last and just gets more precious and beautiful as she gets older.  She's such a good baby, but this weekend she was a bit fussy.  She's cutting her first tooth and that just meant I had to hold her and love on her more to make it better...along with lots of Orajel. I was so carried away with her I forgot to make new pictures...I would think about it but never went and got the camera

You know I told ya'll what a big Auburn fan I am and how our biggest rival is Alabama...WELLL--Kaylens mom appears to be an Alabama fan and she made this picture..

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw this..How could she do that to my poor baby...LOL Her daddy and I are going to get her an Auburn outfit to wear when she is here..The big game is weekend after next and people are already getting geared up..we haven't lost in 6 years but this has been the worse season we have had in years and years so I am not going to do much bragging...just a lot of praying...

Forgot to mention yesterday that the November Challenges are up at DSO.  Mine is the Photo Op Challenge.  Pop on over there are work on the challenges, you will be well rewarded with some awesome posting bonus's  here's a preview of mine for this month.

Sue, my newest CT Member, worked overtime while my Computer was down..she sent me so many beautiful layouts I'm showing them to you is parts..

Sue has so many great vintage pictures..my favorite kind of page to do and see..she used my Heritage Cards for this one.

I love this whimsical layout..the picture is awesome and the WA is from Fall Splendor

Oh how pretty are the colors in this one..Autumn Splendor WA has been just perfect for her pictures of her trip.

This is another one of my favorites. She used a kit by Deane Gow Smith called Berry and you can find it at the Scrapbook Max Store..she used WA from my  Be Yourself set.

Look at this precious little one..she is Paulas 1st Great Grand Child.. she just got to see her for the first time a few weeks ago..she used WA from my Sweet Baby set  and a brag book page by Beth Long using pages from her part of the Gratitude Kit we made for Kim..

I know this is a long post but I have just a few more things to share..

NO JOKES, NO GAMES NO GIMMICKS.....I'M BACK

  WooHoo..its been a  long time since October 14, when I last posted to my blog...I have missed all of you and was almost ready for the nut house, thank goodness they got my computer fixed, but then the Internet was down for a few days.

I was so upset but I used the time to finish some Word Art sets I had already started and did some new ones also.  I don't think we realize how addicted we are to our computers or how often we need them for something until we don't have one.  I was really upset that I missed Kims birthday sale and her Birthday Surprise us CT members had for her..thank goodness we figured she would have another big birthday bash sale this year so we made her kit in October..and managed to keep it a secret too...she was really surprised..and I'm so glad my part was done and posted for download...I really want to thank Paula for posting my blog for me..she called me to get my blog info..

BIG BIG Happy Belated Birthday to you, my dear friend, hope you had a wonderful day and that this year will be your happiest one yet..I love ya

Hello everyone! This is Pkdoll and I have taken over Jazzy's blog.hahahaha! No, really I am here to wish Kim a happy birthday from Jazzy and to post her link to Kim's birthday present "Gratitude". Jazzy might get her computer back and up and running sometime today, but just in case she can't get things going I am posting for her. Pulling My Hair Out

Good Morning Everyone..

This is going to be a short post today.  I've been having computer programs all weekend.  you know those annoying things that popup all the time telling you your computer has spyware and their program has done a scan of your computer and you should click on the download button to get rid of them...well-someone named grandson#1 or grandson#2 clicked the button...it was called Antivirus 2009 there is also one called Antivirus 2008...apparently my installed software didn't recognize that one!!!

I had to do a complete restore and  lost a lot of things that I didn't have backed up. To get to the important thing....

I goofed on my Heritage Cards and let 2 mistakes slip by before they got to the store.. I have them corrected and they should be back in the store this week..I am getting a list of everyone that purchased the set and will send you a link to get the corrected ones..or you can email me at wordstodelite@gmail.com and send me your order number and receipt number and I will email you the link that way.

I am just so so sorry about this and assure you it wont happen again..I appreciate all of you that buy my word art and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I must go now and work on my computer and try to get it back in useable shape..you know how that goes...don't forget to wear that smile (even on days like today lol) keep looking up and big much love.  Jazzy

Rainy Day-Sad Day

Good Thursday Morning everyone...its raining here this am..rained off and on all day on Wednesday..and a sad day..My grandsons's are going home today...their Mom, (Angie) got here last night to spend the night and take them home today..Gage cried and cried last night because he doesn't want to go home..guess Nana spoiled him to much and now it makes me feel bad..he was telling her all the things he got to do here he doesn't get to do at home..I had been trying to tell him all week those things were "special going to Nanas house things" and the were special because he only got to do them at Nanas..didn't work..I told him if he lived with me all the time he would have to do things just like he did at home..that didn't work either..he still wants to stay with me..he went to bed crying and it broke my heart..I just hope he doesn't cry when he leaves and get his mom (and me)  all upset..I think Zane is glad to go home..I didn't baby him and give him his way all the time like his dad does..but all in all it was a great trip.. The first time they ever got to stay with me alone..I am so thrilled they moved to Alabama!! I'm just not used to little boys anymore and I think I've gotten to used to living alone..LOL

Boy I have lots of things to show you today..I have a new kit in the store called Heritage Cards..something a bit different but I really like the way they turned out...they are made to coordinate with KimB's Designs By Gone Gents kit but they also work well with other kits and papers.

Here is one I made using ByGone Gents and my WA Card and a beautiful frame from NA that's all that I have to offer as credit..this is a picture of my great grandfather John Wagnon.

I also made this one to show you how well the cards go with other kits..this beautiful kit is called Ambient Moments and its by Boo Silva (BooLandDesigns) I changed the color of the ribbon.

This is another I made..Heritage Pages are my very favorite to scrap..I used Kims kit BirthdayBash Blue..it was a part of a  kit made by the designers at DSO as a birthday gift to our friends and another card from the Heritage Card Bundle

It just so happened that it rained yesterday and I got some cute shots of the boys playing in the drizzle..

This kit and picture made me think of that old Gene Kelly movie where he sang Singing in the Rain..I had to put some of the lyrics here..seemed just perfect..I know some of you are too young to remember this old black and white move lol but maybe you have heard the song..

Grandchildren---What A Treat

Hello.. Hope everyone is having a great day...and that you had a great weekend...I have had the time of my life since Friday...Angie brought Gage and Zane down to spend part of the week with me..its their fall break..and Josh got to get our precious Kaylen..I've got kids hanging on pegs...LOL..Josh, Chase, Gage, Zane and Kaylen..all my grandchildren and great granddaughter..what fun I have had...but I sure am tired..LOL..I've also got miss Kaylen spoiled..no kidding I have, didn't take me long to do that..she doesn't like to be laid down anymore..unless she is asleep...she thinks you should be holding her I'm sitting here now listening to her fuss...she sure wants out of that crib...lol oh what have I done!!!...

I just have to show you a couple of layouts I did of the kids..

This is a picture Angie made when Kaylen was staying with her for the weekend..I think its so precious..and I love that smile on their faces..the boys just love her to death..Gage loves to feed her and burp her..have to watch him though..he thinks he is grown and likes to carry her around..it drives him nuts for her to whimper..he wants me to get her immediately and if I don't he grabs her up.. I used a freebie from Chaos Lounge for this one.

Some of my favorite pictures of Kaylen...I used vines and flowers, glitter border from Chaos Lounge not sure where the paper came from..the white crochet blanket she is laying on is what I made for Gage when he was born..never thought about my great grandchildren using it...

Ok guess I have bragged enough for one day...on to some more goodies..
