MEET JODIANN

Good Monday morning everyone..

Yep, Sis, I’m Blogging…but you gave me your bug I think, went to bed feeling Yucky and woke up feeling Yuckier…

Folks, let me tell you about my sis..she is a very kind and thoughtful person..Friday was my birthday, but I had Kaylen from Wed. till Friday and when she left I was so worn out I went to bed and slept off and on for the rest of the day and night..she’s getting close to 2 and you know what that means..yep…she’s not content to just stay and play in the room with Nana, she has to check out kitchen cabinets and things like SOS pads (She brought them to me) and the bookcase with all the pictures and whatnots, she thought she had to pick each one up and carry it around with her…thank goodness she hasn’t learned to open doors yet, so at least I can still confine her to the LR and kitchen which is one big room..She LOVES the computer room…so much for her to get into, she thinks she is in a toy store…needless to say, I don’t get much work done while she is here….so back to my sister, she cooked me the most delicious birthday supper on Sat night.

I had been telling her about cooking Swiss steak one time and how much I loved it but had never cooked it again..so she finds a recipe in one of her many cookbooks and makes it for me, with mashed potatoes, lima beans and red Lobster biscuits. Oh it was soooo good..and I ate so much…but we still had leftovers…you see my sister can NEVER make just enough mashed potatoes for 3 people, she makes enough for 10 or more..EVERYTIME…and when she pounded the steak it grew…so we have enough left over for another 2 meals or more..LOL..thank you sis, you’re the best!

I guess you are wondering about my title today…well I’ve decided that everyone needs to get to know (if you don’t already) my fellow designers at DSO..they are all great ladies and so talented..I am going to feature one of them on a blog until you have met them all..I ‘m going to start with Jodiann..this lady is a HOOT, as she says all the time, she makes me laugh and makes me feel good inside just reading her emails.. she lives in Texas, and besides designing, she Home Schools her sons. This lady can tell a story..believe me.. just visit her Blog and check out her Dec. 9th post…and get ready to laugh and laugh…lol  While you are there just read the rest of her Blog..it’s funny, informative and a mixture of just about everything..She is known to leave a few freebies here and there(wink)

BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE

Good Friday Morning Everyone…

The first thing I want to talk about is my last set of Word Art, A Christmas Song. One of my CT discovered a spelling mistake on one of the phrases, #1, divine was spelled devine..that got thru about 3 people and none of us caught it..If you have purchased that set, please send me an email at wordstodelite@gmail.com and include the date of purchase and your invoice number…I will immediately send you a link to get the corrected set..I do apologize for this..no matter how hard we try to have everything perfect when it goes in the store, we are all only human and sometime those little things get past us.

I opened the door early this morning to let Gemma out and Wow was it cold out there..needless to say my little “loves to roam” fur baby didn’t tarry long..lol I thought I heard the word “SNOW” on the 10:00 news last night but I didn’t catch all of it..Probably not for here, we never get snow anymore..and I love it..my friend Betty loved it too and if we ever got a prediction for the white stuff she and I would sit up all night waiting for it..we would talk back and forth on the phone asking each other what we thought it was going to do..just like silly kids hoping to get a day out of school..LOL

I have had Kaylen since Wednesday, it’s the first time in awhile she has been here to stay for any length of time..I have really enjoyed her…but she is growing up to fast and is losing her baby looks..and she is into more now than last time, she has learned how to crawl up on the couch and chairs and how to get out of bed…I was in the computer room yesterday morning and I heard this little voice from the doorway, Hey Nana..she was all sleepy eyed and her hair was all over her head and she had the biggest smile on her little face.. I wish I could have gotten her picture..

I’ve been so out of pocket lately that I don’t really know what is going on in the digi world..If you haven’t heard already, DSO will be going thru some major changes starting Jan.1st..If you keep up with the monthly challenges, you have noticed we have already implicated one of those changes..we won’t be having a forum but will have a DSO Challenge Blog..its the same basically, you just post you information to the blog rather than the forum..you post your layout in the gallery as always..

If you haven’t tried it yet, just go to the forum and read  the information in the challenge you chose and you will be on your way..it’s very easy, even I managed to get it..LOL

Here is a preview of my latest word art..A Christmas Song,

A Christmas Song is a collection the best loved carols, plus traditional songs. The names are the standout words, with words of the song being in smaller letters. In the Christmas colors of Red, White, Wine, Green, and Gold these can be used with almost any elements you choose. Each phrase is on it's own png file. The songs are also done in white shadowed velum so you will be getting a total of 40!! The colors can be changed and they can be resized. They are done in 300ppi for better print quality.

IT’S BEEN AWHILE

Good Morning Everyone.

It's is a cold, rainy, Tuesday in Gadsden, Alabama and so much has happened since I was here last.  On Thanksgiving Day my mother, sister, Chase and I went to Angie’s.
I woke up that day with a sore throat not feeling well. On the way I started feeling worse and slept almost all the way, when I got there I went to bed and slept until lunch was ready..Angie and Cathy had fixed a huge meal and it was so delicious.
I ate and felt better so Chase and I stayed as planned.On Friday Angie and I watched the big Alabama-Auburn game and Dave and Chase put up Christmas decorations outside.
The game started out with a bang, we were winning, and my best friend Betty, called, we always talked on the phone off and on during Auburn games, and said, Well Sis, how do you think we are going to do, we talked for a few minutes and hung up..to make a long story short, I progressively got worse and on Sat night I ended up in the ER at Huntsville hospital.
They admitted me with pneumonia in both lower lobes..I stayed overnight and was discharged, Chase and I went home..
When I got home from Angie’s, I found out my best friend Betty was in the hospital, she went on Saturday because she thought she had pneumonia only to find out she had Leukemia.. she was going to be Transferred to UAB Cancer Center in Birmingham ..I had called the hospital on Monday morning and talked to Jeff, Betty was talking in the background and she asked me if I wanted her to save me her room as we figured my Dr. would put me back in the hospital..she was laughing and sounded fine.. I went to the Dr. on Tuesday and still had pneumonia and was sent home to bed and rest..I came home and called my sister to tell her what the Dr. said and she told me that Betty had a very fast growing type of Leukemia and her Dr. said it was no use to send her to Birmingham, they would not take her at the hospital, by Wednesday they did not think she would make it thru the night and she wanted to go home..they got her home late that afternoon and by 11:30 that night my friend was gone.
My oldest daughter Lori and Jeff, Betty's son, were almost the same age and when they moved in across the street from us they became good friends, I finally met Betty and her husband Jerry and we became fast friends..Betty and Jeff and my girls and I had some escapades as they were growing up..and for almost 30 years we have remained very close.  We shared so many happy times and stood by each others side during so many bad times, I just can not imagine my life without my friend..she left behind her son Jeff and her aging Mother, whom she took care of..her husband died several years ago.
One thing I am so thankful for is that almost every time we talked we each said "I love you"..we called each other sis, Betty was an only child and she used to tell me I was the only sister she had. I have been sick so much off and on the past few years, Betty would beg me to take care of myself, she would say, "I just don't know what I would do without my sis"..
Betty was such a big hearted person, always thinking of others, and her actions always proved it..for example..several months ago my Microwave went out..a week or so later here came Betty and Jeff with a new microwave for me...She knew my sister was here staying with my mother without her computer..so she got one she did not use.. fixed it up and carried it to Cathy..
I am not sure of the name of the type Leukemia she had, I know it onsets around 66 years of age, (Betty was 65) and is very fast growing..the white blood cells grow so fast eating up the red cells that it causes fluid around your lungs and heart and stops your breathing..Betty had problems with disc in her neck and her back and was in a lot of pain, otherwise she was healthy..always worked hard to stay that way..Her death has been such a shock and getting thru her viewing and funeral was so hard to do..my heart breaks for her son and her mother.
Jeff called me about 3 am on Thursday morning and asked me if would write Betty's obituary..I was honored to do it as it gave me a way to say goodbye to my friend.
The night of her funeral Chase and I were watching TV and I picked up the phone to check my messages, I forget that I have voice mail and forget to check them..I had 9 messages and the last one played and I heard Betty's voice, "Sis, call me when you get home before you leave out..she had called me on Wednesday before I went to Angie’s..!!!
Friends, her sudden death brings home the fact again, that we NEVER know when the Good Lord is going to call us home...we need to ALWAYS be prepared...and above all, tell your loved ones you LOVE them..that might be the last thing you ever get to say to them. If you have had a falling out with a friend or family member, make amends and tell them you love them..don't put it off waiting for the other person to make the first move..else you may never get the chance..tell them you are sorry and that you love them,and how thankful you are for them.. if you never hear back, at least you know you tried...and they will know how you feel.

Friendship is a priceless gift
that cannot be bought or sold.
But its value is far greater,
than a mountain made of gold.

For gold is cold and lifeless
it can neither see nor hear,
and in the time of trouble
it is powerless to cheer,
it has no ears to listen nor heart to understand,
It cannot bring you comfort or reach out a helping hand.

So when you ask God for a gift
Be thankful if he sends not diamonds,
pearls or riches but the love of real TRUE FRIENDS.

I know I am a complainer at times about unimportant things as well as others…I found this on the internet and wanted to share it with you…it really hit home with me.

I Am So Thankful
For the teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching TV,
Because that means he is at home and not on the streets.
For the taxes that I pay,
Because it means that I am employed.
For the mess to clean after a party,
Because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.
For the clothes that fit a little too snug,
Because it means I have enough to eat.
For my shadow that watches me work,
Because it means I am out in the sunshine.
For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that
need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing,
Because it means I have a home.
For all the complaining I hear about the government,
Because it means that we have freedom of speech.
For the parking spot I find at the far end
of the parking lot,
Because it means I am capable of walking
and that I have been blessed with transportation.
For my huge heating bill,
Because it means I am warm.
For the lady behind me in church that sings off key,
Because it means that I can hear.
For the pile of laundry and ironing,

CHILLY MONDAY

Good Morning !!

Hope you all had a good weekend…I did…didn’t do much but I finally got to have Jaxon at my house…got to keep them both Friday afternoon..Jaxon is the best baby, he never cried or fussed a time..but Kaylen has a cold and a runny nose and she was not her usual happy self…now I’m thinking that part of it might have been because Jaxon was here, she is a bit jealous of me with him.I still had a great time keeping them..

I made some pictures to record the day…here’s one of Jaxon, just tell me this baby’s grown..LOL

 

Kaylen came running to see her picture but I managed to snap this one before she got to the camera LOL I used a glamour shot filter on it as I was going to make SB pages of them but didn’t get it done.

I went to my mom’s Saturday night and had a wonderful supper cooked by my sister…she’s the best cook..she LOVES trying new recipes and I’ve ever seen anyone who loves cookbooks like she does..my mom and I are lucky to reap the rewards of trying out all the new dishes!!

Sunday night I went was invited to Josh and Kendra’s for supper..I had a good time there.  I played with the kids and had a good visit.

Thanks everyone for the prayers for my mother…her Doctor’s report was much better than we had thought, she is not in kidney failure..there was an explanation of her blood work but heaven only knows I can’t begin to tell you what it was, I’m not good at remembering medical terminology LOL

I have a new CT member, her nick is MumaSue..I have known her for a long time thru SBM and had asked her to be on the team but she had other obligations at that time, Sue is married and has 1 beautiful little girl, (I know you will see her a lot)..and lives in Illinois….like the rest of the team, she is an awesome scrapper as you will see in a bit.

A BIG THANK YOU to my CT for all these BEAUTIFUL pages, ya’ll are the best.

I know this is a big week for those in the USA…I am going to Angie’s for Thanksgiving and Chase and I are staying with them until Sunday…I’m looking forward to it so much, and will be there to watch the BIG GAME..The annual Iron Bowl Game between Auburn and Alabama..to be honest I think we are going to get a licking…but you never know when those two teams play…strange things have happened thru the years! Chase, Dave and Zane are for Alabama, as is Kendra and Jaxon..Me,Josh Kaylen Angie and Gage are for Auburn. I would say “Our House Divided” works out even on both sides LOL

THE WEEKEND IS HERE

Good Friday Morning one and all..have you got a big one planned?

The new Twilight Move started this morning at 12:00 am to sold out theaters and people standing in LONG LONG lines to see the movie..Andrea, (DSO Designer) got her tickets over a month ago and waited in line for 6 hrs in order to get a good seat…WOW those books must be something else, I am going to read them when I go to my daughters..

Friends, please say a prayer for my mom…she is not doing well, she had lab work done and it showed kidney failure in her blood work..she goes to her regular doctor this afternoon and I’m hoping he puts her in the hospital to find out what is going on..she stays in bed most of the time now.

Also say a prayer for my GS Josh, he got layed off on Wednesday and so needs to find a job Now..they just got moved into their house and things were starting to look up for them..and for my GS Chase he has been out of work for a long time and is also trying to find a job.  I know there are thousands out there in the same situation we need to say a prayer for…and we should all be Thankful for what we have, we are blessed.

Today I want to show you my new word art in the store now..

It's A Boy was inspired by my new GGS. I wanted word art to express my feelings for him in my own pages. I'm sharing these with you..there are 20 black expression and 5 done in white shadowed vellum.
