Monday and New Word Art

Good Monday Morning everyone. Hope all you that celebrate had a wonderful 4th. Mine was very quiet. Chase came over on Thursday to spend a few days with me, and we just didn't do anything but be lazy.  Didn't even get out of the house from Thursday night till Sunday afternoon ...

I cooked a big pot roast on the 4th and we enjoyed that..my sister, bless her heart, cooked Sunday dinner for us, Pork Loin Roast, butter beans, cheese and macaroni (homemade) cole slaw, cornbread, tomatoes, ripe olives, onions...I could hardly move after I ate, I stuffed myself!

We came home and I laid on the couch to watch the cake contest on food network and fell asleep, Chase was playing his game and on the computer. I slept for a long long time, and woke up wide awake.I have to go back to the dr today so this won't be a long post..

I love this picture of Kaylen with her tongue out..she keeps it that way a lot of the time..she's going to have some trouble with that when she starts walking and falling...I used a kit by Holly Designs called Halo to make this one. INDEPENDENCE DAY -- HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Only two people signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, John Hancock and Charles Thomson. Most of the rest signed on August 2, but the last signature wasn't added until 5 years later.
During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the American colonies from Great Britain occurred on July 2, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence that had been proposed in June by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia. After voting for independence, Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining this decision, which had been prepared by a Committee of Five, with Thomas Jefferson as its principal author. Congress debated and revised the Declaration, finally approving it on July 4. A day earlier, John Adams had written to his wife Abigail:
“     The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.    ”

Adams' prediction was off by two days. From the outset, Americans celebrated independence on July 4, the date shown on the much-publicized Declaration of Independence, rather than on July 2, the date the resolution (From .wikipedia.org

When I think of Independence Day and Freedom I not only think of our forefathers who fought for our freedom but for all those who have since fought to keep America free.  Americans have always been ready to make sure that those freedoms fought for in the American Revolution are still ours today. Not only should we celebrate that day but also honor all those who have fought and died for us.

I feel so blessed to live in America, I get chills when I hear the Star Spangled Banner and I get choked up when I say the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag, and I cry when I sing God Bless America.

It has been 223 years since we first declared our independence and we still have our men and women, of the military, on foreign soils, again fighting for our freedom and for the freedom of others. I honor them today and say a special thank you to them and to their families.

In the mist of all the celebrations today, lets keep in mind just what the day means and give a prayer of thanks for all we have and for our Military.

That said, I have lots to tell you today,

I made you a little something for today..a bit out of category for me..but hope you can use it..heres a paqe I made with it to honor my dad today, he joined the Navy at 17 when Pearl Harbor was attacked, his parents had to sign for him, a decision they agonized over, he lost his leg at the Battle of Iwo Jima, and came home a man having seen things no boy or man should every have to see..he was my hero always.

Hello one and all..hope you are having a lovely day so far...

I was out of pocket for over a week with strep throat and it knocked me on my butt for sure...but I'm feeling more like a human everyday lol...My life has been very dull and boring since we talked last...I've spent my time between the bed and the couch!  I am having withdrawal from not seeing my baby for so long...but I'm going to see her this afternoon if the rain stays away.

We went out to eat and took Kaylen, she had so much fun, she ate some of everything she could, and still wanted more so we gave her jello and chocolate pudding, she went wild over the pudding and just kept on wanting it..we finally gave her a spoon and she put the whole thing in her mouth..she was soooo sleepy but still wanted to keep eating..LOL This picture was a bit blurry but you can see some of the food that was all over her little face..oh what a night to remember for great grandma...

IS IT WEDNESDAY ALREADY????

Good Morning Everyone...gosh I can't believe it's Wednesday already...a week from today we will be into a new month...

I talked to the kids last night and Kaylen is still feeling bad from her teeth..poor baby...makes me want to cry when she's hurting..

I was in such a rush Monday trying to finish while the baby was asleep I forgot to tell you about my weekend...I went to Mothers on Saturday and we took flowers to my Dad's grave, then Cathy cooked this wonderful supper of Meatloaf, fried green tomatoes, new potatoes, fresh lima beans, and pineapple cake..I ate till I thought I was gonna pop...ohh it was so good...then we watched some TV when I got home there was a guy standing on my porch, the light wasn't on and I couldn't tell who it was..scared me really..then he stated walking toward the car and it was Chase...what a nice surprise..he still has his key so he had already been in the house, using the computer LOL..he was hungry as usual..lol he started in the cabinets and moved to the fridge and freezer, he ate some enchiladas and then he ate cereal and then later he ate some more cereal and some frozen chicken fingers...we watched movies until late and just had a good time being together...next morning he ate 2 more bowls of cereal then I had to take him back to his dads so he could get ready to go out of town this week for work...

On the way we stopped by Josh and Kendras, Kendra and the baby were sleeping so we didn't bother them..I had framed a picture of Kaylen that Josh said was his favorite and gave it to him...he was soooo happy...you would have thought I gave him a hundred dollars..on the way back from carrying Chase home I stopped back by and everyone was awake and I had a good time visiting for awhile..

I have lots to tell you and show you this morning...

Monday Morning and a Teething Baby

Good Monday morning everyone...I'm really late this morning.  Got a call from the kids earlier saying they needed me to keep Kaylen today..she is cutting her stomach teeth, running a fever, ill, doesn't want to be held, doesn't  want to be put down, doesn't want to take her bottle or eat..I finally got her to sleep, for how long I don't know, so guess this blog will be for how she sleeps LOL..
